Netball
Netball
has gone from strength to strength in
2010. The U 14 teams had an excellent
season, winning 80% of their games.
They participated in the local Small
Schools League, but unfortunately did
not make it to the final round. The
U15 Team girls won most of their games
and came third in the Finals of the
Small Schools League. The U 16s managed
to win 70% of their games. The 2nd Team
was unbeaten. This team was committed,
but also focused on having fun since
there was not that much pressure. Some
of these players participated in league
matches as an U17A Team and came third
in the league.
The First Team was surely one of the
best teams Uplands has had recently.
The season started in September last
year with the team participating, and
coming second, in the local Action Netball
league. At the St Andrew’s festival,
17 matches were played in four days.
After
losing the first game against Penryn,
the girls went on to win all their other
matches. They went to the finals of
the Small Schools League as the number
one team in the Enhlanzeni region. Even
though the team did not win the championships,
the girls won hands down on attitude
and sportsmanship.
