Winter
Sport versus Hoërskool Lydenburg
16 May 2009
This
year, Lydenburg forms part of our league
commitments. It was a clean sweep as
far as Boys’ Hockey is concerned.
The U14A’s won 2-0 and the U16A’s
annihilated their opponents 8-0. The
1st team had a much tougher match and
Jonathan Myburgh’s goal broke
the deadlock to secure a 1-0 victory.
The Rugby results were very pleasing.
Although our U14A’s lost 0-25,
the other teams made amends by winning
their encounters. The U15A’s arguably
played their best match of the season,
beating Lydenburg 14-0, the 2nd XV scored
a last minute try to win 13-8 and the
1st team won a thrilling match 6-5.
It is the first time in history (3rd
year) that our 1st team beat Lydenburg.
It was a wonderful achievement and the
boys showed a lot of guts and determination.
The 1st Girls’ Hockey hockey team
beat Lydenburg 3-0 and our 2nd team
followed suit, beating their counterpart
3-0. The U16A’s went down 0-1
and the U15A’s were disappointing
losing 0-4. However, the U14A’s
won comfortably 8-1.
