CANSA
Debutantes
The
CANSA debs are bright and enthusiastic
young girls who grow and develop into
delightful, confident young women. There
is only one real requirement for a deb
and that is to be able to organise,
organise, organise.
Throughout
the year we have numerous functions
at school. We have movie nights, socials,
civvie days, a shave-a-thon and a spring
fun day. We sell donuts, pizzas, Uncle
George’s ‘slap’ chips
and KFC. Many of our activities are
merely to enhance cancer awareness.
Our
CANSA debutantes for 2007 are: Amy
Pyne-James, Zethu Ndlovu,
Mary-Ann Wiggill, Leesha
Walters, Shanine Viljoen,
Dana da Silva, Andi
Wilson, Amy Vieler,
Tania Wendelspies,
Jeanine McCarthy and
Nombuso Matsebule.
The
girls all have their own private fundraisings,
which includes anything from dinner
parties, Karaokes, a fun run, tuck shops
and raffles.
We
had our Annual Launch on 22 February
2007 organised by the girls themselves.
The setting was perfect and our gracious
host, Mrs da Silva kindly opened her
beautiful house for the launch. We started
a new tradition by cutting and eating
a ceremonial cake, pinning on the badges
and the girls introducing themselves. |
